Yingluck Shinawatra dismissed allegations Khunying Podjaman na Pompet had pressed for a transfer of police chief Pol Gen Wichian Podbhosri.
The prime minister said Khunying Podjaman,
ex-spouse of former premier Thaksin Shinawatra,
had by no means interfered in the businesses of the government or pushed for the transfer of any military or police leader as rumored.
Ms Yingluck apparently downplayed speculation Pol Gen Wichian might be transferred and replaced by deputy police chief Pol Gen Preawpand Damapong, brother of Khunying Podjaman's.
The woman leader did not either confirm or deny if Pol Gen Wichian might probably be transferred if he failed to get rid of gambling dens in Bangkok following the sensational exposure of one in Sutisarn area by opposition MP Chuvit Kamonvisit in parliament.
The police chief also dismissed hearsay he would sooner or later rPoesign under pressure from the ruling Puea Thai Party who allegedly looked to have him transferred. He said he had met his job descriptions and fared for the interests of the country.
